Fish Daze

I love living in Murray. It's close to Salt Lake, so we don't miss any of the city happenings and the airport is a quick 15 minute drive from our home. But somehow they've managed to keep Murray functioning like a small town. There are community events, gorgeous parks, trails...the list goes on. Plus, everyone's super friendly. It's fantastic.

We went to one of the community events, Fish Daze, yesterday. Every year they stock the pond at Willow Pond Park with fish and let the kids come out and learn how to fish for free. No license or poles required - they provide everything, plus free lunch at the end. You can't get much better than that.

We took Brady out this year and he really liked it. We asked him if he wanted to pick a worm out of the cup but he decided he'd rather not dirty his hands. (He tends to take after his mother in that respect...every time he sees a bug he runs away and says "oh! Bug! Kill it!") Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish this year (they were having a hard time acclimating and were all huddled at the bottom of the pond) but we did get some great photos. And Brady had fun; he's ready to go on his next fishing trip as soon as we give the go-ahead.
